Lyocell is a semi-synthetic, cellulosic fiber, often used in textiles, made from wood pulp. It’s a form of rayon, produced by dissolving pulp and then dry jet-wet spinning. The Federal Trade Commission defines it as a fiber composed of cellulose precipitated from an organic solution where no hydroxyl group substitution or chemical intermediates are formed.
